Custom Ski Boots
Skiing is unique, as most skiers accept their ski boots need to be uncomfortable to achieve superior performance.
There are few "bad" modern off-the-shelf ski boots, but there can be bad matches between ski boot and skier. Off-the-shelf ski boots, designed for the average foot and then sold by inexperienced individuals are at the very root of this problem. Selection and fitting your ski boots is much more important than selection and tuning of skis. Boots are the control link between skier, skis and, ultimately, the snow. For skiers seeking the best possible combination of comfort and control, Custom-Made Ski Boots personalized by an experienced fitter are the ideal solution.
The DaleBoot is a 100% customized solution for each and every DaleBoot customer. As part of the fitting process we take a series of measurements, identifying the proper length, width and volume of the shell. In addition, we perform a complete athletic assessment to determine any special needs of that customer, including complex fore/aft and lateral stance balancing within the boot. The liner is then 100% customized to the foot and lower leg, providing excellent contact for performance and fit for comfort.
After the boot has been completed, we stance balance the athlete in the frontal plane (laterally), by using our replaceable and cantable sole units, to put the ski in a neutral (flat) position on the snow. The result is a boot that's been built from the skier's foot outwards to the shell, providing the optimal combination of performance and comfort.
Although the primary focus of SportSoles is as an DaleBoot Factory Authorized Fit Center, we also provide less comprehensive customization for other brands of ski boot shells. Our customization of off-the-shelf boots may include: after market custom liners, specialized shell punches and alterations for bunions, bone spurs, ankle bones, or other foot or lower leg anomalies, custom shell stretching (in both width and length) to accommodate all foot shapes & volumes, custom orthotics and stance alignment.
